my recommendations

Here is a list of the specific items that I regularly use for my various deliveries and can confidently provide my honest recommendations and thoughts on them. I will also share insights on how they have performed based on my personal experience, along with information on where you can conveniently find them for your own use.

Power banks

  • NOBIS Power Bank

This is the power bank I trust. It works well for both high-power and low-power devices. It’s compatible with many gadgets, like smartphones, tablets, computers, wireless earphones, smartwatches, and rechargeable lights.

When using various apps such as Strava, Uber Driver, and Google Maps, I find this particular bank to be quite reliable for my needs. I typically plug my phone in for charging when it reaches around 50%, feeling confident that it will last throughout dinner time - evening shift without any issue.

  • AsperX 2-Pack Power Bank Portable Charger

These were the first power banks I purchased and to be fair even now that I find iv got a collection of power banks now these still serve their purpose. I still keep these charged up and available if needed.

I am yet to see the fast charge feature it boasts but to be fair its just under £20 for two that actually work pretty well and hold a charge for them emergencies.

Delivery Bags

  • Boolanga Telescopic Cubic

So this is a great bag and to be fair if I didn’t get convinced to get an official Uber bag then this is the one id still be using. This bag is water proof and when fully expanded can hold up to 89ltrs. The straps are comfortable and feel secure when you have a heavier delivery like a food shop to transport. It stands out less that the official Uber bag which can be a plus if you are in an area that you wish to draw less attention to yourself.

  • ALWIDA Food Delivery Backpack

This bag is on the cheaper end of the bags I have tried. This was the first bag I went for and for its price it is a great bag however it is not as sturdy as the other bags I have recommended here. This bag is great for getting started but if you will often be delivering McDonalds where they use the fountain drinks for the deliveries or if you are taking coffee then this bag is not for you as it has a habit of the bottom of the bag folding in. For everything else this bag absolutely does the job and for just under £17 you cant really complain.

  • Uber Eats Telescopic Delivery Bag

This is the bag I use now and it is by far my favriote out of the selection. The bag expands to a great size if it is needed but I can comfortably fit two McDonalds orders in this bag without having to expand the bag. It is very waterproof and its easy for others to see. Uber have released this at a fair price of £35.90. Some people don’t like to ride around wearing a bag that advertises what they might have in their bag but on the other hand iv had customers mention to me that they have ordered from Uber because they have seen the bag and its given them a hankering. I believe due to Uber being plastered on the bag that you get a great quality bag at a lower end cost that brings in customers.

bits for your bike

  • Glangeh Upgraded Bike Lights

The light's quick release feature particularly caught my attention because I take the lights off my bike when I lock it up to keep it from being stolen. I was drawn to this device because of this feature. This also comes in handy when you need a torch to see the house numbers. It is adjustable and secure when attached, and it comes off and reattaches in a split second.
Unfortunately, the back light is not quick release, therefore the strap needs to be manually removed each time. Although the strap is long enough to allow attachment without excessive stretching, it would have been wonderful to have a quick release on the back light as well.

  • TRIXSON Bike Lights

These are your basic lights that will help you be seen by others. They don’t have any fancy features but they are reliable and do their job. These are always handy to have in your bag in case your battery runs out on your main lights or if they do what you need them to do. I also use these for other purposes like attaching them to your dog on walks. I normally find these attached to my bile due to forgetting they have even been put on as they are small.

  • Vitalismo Bike Phone Holder Waterproof - Phone Holder

This is the one I have had since I started delivering and I have nothing to fault it on. It holds my phone well and is easy enough for me to use my phone whilst my phone is in it. This case has a quick release that is extremely handy and I can keep my power bank in it too and able to have my phone phone charging whilst it is in the case. I have never felt the need to try another case so I only have this one to recommend.

  • Camelbak Podium Chill Sports Water Bottle

This water bottle is designed with double-walled insulation, which significantly helps it keep your drink refreshingly cool for an extended period of time. It features a sturdy twist top that provides an added layer of security and effectively prevents any potential spillages, making it an excellent choice for on-the-go use.

  • ZELENY Bike Lock

This is the bike lock I use when I go to the city to do my deliveries. I used to keep it in my bag however it does add noticeable weight to your load. After watching a film called Premium Rush it gave me the idea of wearing it like a belt strapped around my waist whilst I cycle around. This lock will keep your bike secure whilst you pop in to places to collect orders in areas you are not as familiar with.

  • Hiplok Z LOK

These locks are my go to when working in my local area. They secure the bike enough for you to feel confidant to nip in and out of places to pick up and drop off and a weight you will not feel added in your inventory. These were probably one of my best buys in terms of practicality.

Clothing

  • SEALSKINZ All Weather MTB Glove

I have had these gloves forever and they for me are just tops. Sealskinz are a great reliable brand and I still wear these to this date even though the dog has chewed a hole in the little finger of them. I highly recommend these for the colder weather and still allows you to use your phone in its case whilst you are on the move.

  • Kua Fly Cycling Gloves

These are what I personally wear during the warmer months. I still like to have my fingers covered. These are lightweight, cheap and cheerful gloves that will help save your fingers from bush whacking as you bike about.

  • Rodeel Classic Men's Rain Jacket

This versatile rain coat can be conveniently packed away and neatly stored in your bag, ensuring that you are well protected from the unpredictable elements without feeling like you are lugging any more heavy equipment around with you. It is perfect to have at hand in case you find yourself caught out unexpectedly by a sudden downpour from the heavens.

  • bro! chill n'shred hoodie

This is the Bro! hoodie. I wear this all the time and constantly asked where I got it. This hoodie is designed for those that love to hit the slopes but it turns out it is perfect for wearing to deliver in the winter nights. I have found this hoodie does an incredible job of keeping my body, neck, ears and face warm when that chilly wind comes in. After been caught in some of the worst weather with this on it has served its purpose. Use this code to get 10% off and keep warm this winter. smalltowndeliverybro10
